WEST DEAN GARDENS & HOUSE
Charlotte and Mike chose West Dean Gardens and the College as the backdrop to their wedding. West Dean has stunning grounds, hidden lakes and bridges, It is breathtaking and unique. Their wedding concentrated on the Hanging Gardens section, the lawns with a marquee on the lower lawns. The college has had a full restoration and it meant on Their wedding day the stunning flint fronted college was covered in scaffolding and sheeting - not an ideal romantic look….so we chose to spend our time in the hanging gardens for portraits and they look divine!
The whole look of the day was Romantic and light, I remember it was pretty humid that day and I love how Charlotte embraced the look - she rolled up her Vera Wang dress to show off her gorgeous legs and pretty shoes….
Everyone was very relaxed - I think the wedding party were pretty overwhelmed with the views and location of West Dean. There was a military feel to the day, It was organised well and Mikes buddies were excellent at rounding up people and keeping things running to schedule. I loved how they had a sword arch for the couple when they left the church - It made a beautiful frame for a few pictures….
The speeches were amazing -Public speaking was no problem to this group and what I enjoy about speeches are they reveal some of the hidden gems about the couple and you really get to piece together all the strands that make them who they are, and it reveals their impish side - I have to say the Best man certainly saved a corker of a story for the speeches which left Charlotte and Mike somewhat flustered shall we say! - The room was howling! - Love it
